Hethersett Velo Club
Hethersett Velo Club was set-up in May 2013 by cycling enthusiast Martin "Bart" Anderton with the aim of making club cycling accessible for all:
"We want riders of all abilities to experience the joys of riding in a group," he said.
At present there is a main club ride of 30 to 35 miles on Sunday mornings from 8.30 a.m, a slower and shorter ride of between five and 10 miles on Monday evenings from 7.15 p.m and a more up tempo ride of between 20 and 25 miles on Tuesdays from 7.15 p.m.
"The ethos of the club is about enjoyment, confidence and club spirit. The Hethersett Velo Club is designed to encourage people to partake in cycling and build their confidence to ride in a group. It's also a great way to workout and improve personal fitness," Martin added.
Martin is also responsible for organising the annual Hethersett 30-60 cycle event which in 2014 will be extended to include a 90 mile ride.
